Itinerary

Day 1Casablanca Airport or Hotel in Casablanca

Your driver will pick you up at the airport in Casablanca (Mohamed V) and take you to your hotel. Then, you’ll spend the night in the hotel. If you’ve already arrived in Casablanca a few days before, we’ll pick you up from your hotel and start the tour.

Day 2Casablanca, Rabat and Chefchaouen

In the morning, you’ll start your trip to see the biggest mosque in Casablanca, the Hassan 2 Mosque. Then we’ll head to Rabat, the capital of Morocco. We’ll start with the Bab El-Had, the mausoleum of Mohammed V, and one of the main gates of the royal palace, the Oudaya Kasbah. Then we’ll have lunch at a local restaurant. Then, we’ll head straight for the blue city of Chefchaouen. Along the way, you’ll pass through some small towns and we’ll stop for breaks. I’d recommend getting to Chefchaouen a bit early so you have time to walk through the blue alleys of the medina, take some pictures, and try the local food. Then, you’ll spend the night in the hotel.

Day 3Chefchaouen, Fez

Today in Chefchaouen, you’ll have some free time in the morning to check out the Blue City. It’s a city in the Rif Mountains, northwest of Morocco. The town is known for its unique buildings, which have different shades of blue. Its steep, cobbled alleys are lined with workshops that specialize in leather and weaving. In the middle of Outa el Hammam, there’s a shaded square with a casbah in the center. This casbah has red walls and dates back to the fifteenth century. It’s also home to ethnographic and artistic exhibitions. The octagonal minaret of the Great Mosque is nearby. After lunch, keep going to Fez.

Day 4Fez the 2nd day

After breakfast at your Riad, you’ll start exploring the oldest city in Morocco, walking in its alleys and small streets. Our visit starts with a stop at the Royal Palace gate, then we’ll head over to the Jewish quarter and the first Mellah ever built in Morocco, which was built during the 14th century. We’ll make sure you see all the cultural and historical sites, like the famous Al Qaraouine University, the oldest in the world, the Tanneries, and the Moulay Idriss mausoleum. After lunch, you’ll visit the tiles cooperative and then get a great panoramic view of the whole Medina of Fes. Staying at the same Riad overnight.

Day 5Fez, Ifran, Midlet, and the Sahara Desert of Merzouga

After breakfast, you’ll head out of Fes, making your way to Merzouga via Midelt and the Ziz valley. Today, you’ll travel through Ifrane, a gorgeous mountain village that’s been nicknamed the Switzerland of Morocco. You’ll also stop at the cedar forest on the Middle Atlas Mountains. During this trip, you’ll get to see parts of the Middle Atlas and Higher Atlas mountains. You’ll also stop at Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous cedar forest—the largest one in Morocco. There, you’ll have the chance to see Barbary apes. Then, your adventure continues on to Midelt, where you’ll be amazed by the stunning hills and mountains of the Atlas. After lunch in Midelt, you’ll head to the Tiz Ntalghamt pass and the Ziz Gorge. These spots are pretty amazing—you’ll get to see the High Atlas plateau and the scenery change as you get closer to Errachidia. Then, you’ll head to the stunning Ziz Valley, where you’ll get some awesome panoramic views of Erfoud and Rissani. When you get to Merzouga in the afternoon, someone will greet you with a glass of mint tea. Then, take a camel ride in the dunes of the Sahara Desert of Merzouga to reach the camp where you’ll spend the night.

Day 6Merzouga, Todra Gorges and Dades Valley

Your camel guide will wake you up early in the morning to watch what could be the best sunrise of your life. You’ll then head back to the village of Merzouga on a camel. On the way, you’ll see the amazing beauty of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, which look different as the day goes on. After breakfast and a hot shower at the riad, you’ll head out for a trip to Rissani, Tinghir, and Todgha Gorges. These gorges are the highest and narrowest in all of Morocco. After lunch in the middle of the gorge, we’ll head on through the Dades Valley, where you’ll get to see the impressive sand castles and those crazy rock formations they call “monkey toes.” You’ll stay in a fancy guest house overnight, with a diner and breakfast. It’s right by the Dades Valley.

Day 7Dades Valley, Ouarzazate, Ait Ben Hadou, and Marrakech

After breakfast at your accommodation, you’ll start your journey through the Dades Valley towards Ouarzazate and then on to Marrakech. The road through Dades Valley is called the Way of the Thousand Kasbahs, and it’s a great place to take some of your best shots of the trip. You’ll also stop in Kalaat M’Gouna, which is right in the middle of the rose valley. There, you’ll have the option to visit a cooperative that grows roses and purchase rosewater to use on your linen to keep it smelling great long after your trip is over. Then, head to Marrakech via the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah. Et Hami El Glaoui, one of the last Berber chieftains during the 19th century, built the Kasbah, which is now home to many Glaoui families. Your trip will take you through the stunning Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m) over the High Atlas Mountains. There, you’ll get to learn about how Argan oil is made by Berber women in their cooperative, something you can only find in Morocco. Then, you’ll head to your overnight spot in Marrakech.

Day 8Marrakech Sightseeing

After breakfast at the riad, you can start exploring Marrakesh, also known as “the red city of Morocco.” We’ll make sure you see the most important historical and cultural sites, like the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Tower, the Saadian tombs, and the Bahia Palace. After lunch at a restaurant near the square, you’ll walk through the souks and see hundreds of handicrafts. In the afternoon, you’ll have some free time to check out the rest of the city on your own.

Day 9Hotel or Airport transfer

If your flight is leaving that day, we can take you to the airport or drop you off at your hotel in Casablanca.

From the moment we were picked up at the airport, we felt like part of the Vivid Morocco family. Our guide, Youssef, didn’t just show us the sights—he shared stories, culture, laughter, and even his favorite local dishes. Camping under the stars in Erg Chebbi was magical, and the Berber family who hosted us in the Atlas Mountains brought tears to our eyes with their hospitality. This wasn’t just a trip—it was a connection. Thank you for giving us Morocco at its most beautiful and human.
