Leave Fes and travel south through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in the alpine town of Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland,” and the cedar forests of Azrou — home to Barbary apes. After lunch in Midelt, continue through the scenic Ziz Valley to reach the golden dunes of Merzouga. Enjoy a camel ride into the heart of the Sahara Desert and spend the night in a traditional desert camp under the stars.
